My SharePoint Conference 2019 Recap

Yesterday I headed home after having an incredible time in Vegas for SharePoint Conference. For me this was my first time attending and speaking at SPC. I started the morning on Tuesday at the keynote watching Jeff Teper, Karuana Gatimu, Naomi Moneypenny, and more. The demo that I was most excited about was the enhancements to the files feature of Microsoft Teams. You will soon be able to add additional columns and use conditional formatting so you can get the full SharePoint experience right within Teams!

On Wednesday I did a lot of session prep. I always enjoy my time in the speaker lounge catching up with everyone and learning! I also walked around the expo hall and checked out out some of the booths. I am not a huge swag person but I actually found some pretty cool stuff to take home including a glass coffee mug and little Lego people. Later on I attended the conference party where the band Gin Blossoms played!

Thursday morning was the big day! At 8:30 am I joined Mark Kashman on the big stage to give our session “Teamwork Governance – securely share, manage and protect content and collaboration”. I honestly never thought I would be presenting a session in such a huge venue. I almost burst out in nervous laughter when a guy came from backstage and asked if we wanted entrance lighting. Mark is a wonderful presenter and made it feel easy once we got started. We had some great questions and a lot of positive feedback. I definitely hope to give this session again since many people said it was really helpful! Here is a link to our slide deck for the session.

I would like to thank all of the event organizers, fellow speakers, sponsors, and attendees! I can’t wait for next year! Also special thanks to my friends that came out early in the morning to support me and take awesome pictures!
